Housing Monitor


The Housing monitor reports to TAY (Transitional Age Youth) Program Manager or their designee and will work overnight hours. Housing Monitor responsibilities include monitoring safety and security of the TAY transition living residence occupied by 12 male youth ages 18-24; conducting regular rounds, and property searches; and monitors client behavior and reports all relevant information to immediate supervisor. To be successful in the position one must be motivated with a sense of teamwork and possess good communication and people skills.


• High School Diploma
• Ability and desire to work with young adults from various background
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet usage
• Ability to enter data in an electronic health record system
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Valid California driver’s license and insured automobile
• Current CPR or First Aid Certification (or complete within 30 days of hire)

3. Ability to assess patients for dangerousness and intervene in a timely, calm, and appropriate manner
4. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
5. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work independently, use good judgement, and remain calm in crisis situations
7. Ability to accept direction from supervisors and complete assigned tasks
8. Ability to appropriately provide direction to residents
9. Crisis intervention techniques and basic counseling skills a plus
